✨ This week's quote: And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. - The Alchemist

✨ This week in a photo:

✨ This week's life update: This past week has been so so full!! I hosted two dream events, Poppi (a prebiotic soda) got sold for $1.95 billion to PepsiCo, Hinge Health filed for IPO, The Skimm sold to Ziff Davis' Everyday Health Group, AND I went on the most beautiful hike through the city which made me fall in love with SF even more.

✨ This week's reflection: I moved into a founder house earlier this month - there are about 20 founders living in this house (maybe sounds crazy but I promise it's not that chaotic!). It's been SUCH a highlight. The community has been amazing; something I've loved about this city is how it just attracts people of all walks of life, ages, & backgrounds to build their dreams. We have married couples, students, ex-nurses, developers, immigrants here, building their dreams, co-living, and supporting one another.

From house demo nights to potlucks and serendipitous conversations in the kitchen, it has filled my heart with so much joy! I'm already sad knowing we're moving somewhere else in a few weeks, but so grateful to have sought out this experience.

✨ This week's lesson: When it comes to exploring a new city and opportunities, life really is about embracing rejection. The mantras that have been super helpful for me are: you're one rejection closer to what you want most, and the universe is never saying no, it's saying it has something better in store. When one thing does not "work out," I trust that it's because there's something even better right around the corner. And thats really turned out to be true. When one door has closed, many more have opened… better than I could’ve even imagined!

Also, as I'm writing this, I'm realizing that this year for some reason I haven't been the best with my daily journals, but this newsletter has become such a lovely reflective moment each week... it helps me slow down, actually reflect, and document. Everything is an opportunity to learn, grow, and evolve.

Following up on our chat from last time about me going to therapy, this week I prioritized being outside, moving my body, and meditating - and I really feel a difference in my mental health! 💗 So may this be a reminder if you're feeling similar to how I was, to reach into the tools in your toolbox and prioritize your health, in any small or big way!

✨ This week's journal prompt: What is one thing that I can add to my calendar this week, that I know brings me joy?

🌱 COMMUNITY & EVENTS 🌱

Last Week's Highlights:

Tech Brews

How stunning is this venue! First event hosted in Menlo Park, ft Rishi Madok. I'm one of the co-leads of Tech Brews alongside Samantha and Charleston! Tech Brews is a global & inclusive community for healthtech and lifescience leaders. We're getting such positive feedback from everyone on how they love this format where the majority of the fireside chat is Q&A based. Our next event will be on March 15th at 6pm with a speaker I am personally very excited for (hint: she co-founded a company that delivers one of the best patient experiences for primary care, for women). Stay tuned for next newsletter for sign-ups!

Innovate HER APAC x Women's Health with FemTech Weekend

This was one of my favorite events I've hosted since being in San Francisco. I honestly got emotional - I don't remember the last time I've been a part of or hosted an event specifically for the APAC community. Hearing the challenges and raw stories that Sylvia and Saki shared about what it's like as Asian women to innovate in this world was incredibly touching and also motivating.

How lucky I am to be in an era where I get to look up to such incredible women who have paved the path! Now we get the opportunity to follow their footsteps and continue to drive the innovation we believe should exist in this world. Some of the things we discussed was the narrative on how we don't see Asian women in CEO roles or in positions of power. That is a societal bias that we fight against every day - but we're changing that. Also the cherry on top of this journey has been making friends from across the world who are passionate about advancing women’s health. So grateful to have partnered with Zhu on this one and for finally getting to meet in person!
